U.S. Southern Command will send specialists to support hospitals in La Chorrera. The "Together for Health" mission will help over 10,000 Panamanians, strengthening cooperation between the nations.

A team of health professionals from the United States Southern Command will provide support over the coming months to strengthen medical services at the San Miguel Arcángel Hospital and the Nicolás A. Solano Hospital in La Chorrera.

The event was attended by Rafael De Gracia, medical director of San Miguel Arcángel Hospital; doctors from the Southern Command, representatives of the U.S. Embassy; local authorities, and officials from the Ministry of Health.

«This project is more than a medical mission: it symbolizes solidarity, friendship, and collaboration between our peoples,» he highlighted.

The "Together for Health" medical mission will benefit more than 10 thousand Panamanians from diverse communities.

As part of this initiative, the San Miguel Arcángel Hospital will have a specialized team in endoscopy and gastroenterology, as well as an anesthesiologist and two medical assistants.

The Minister of Health, Fernando Boyd Galindo, thanked the U.S. Embassy for this support to the Panamanian health system.

Minister Boyd Galindo emphasized that this joint work between professionals from Panama and the United States seeks to bring hope, dignity, and specialized care to the communities that need it most.

In turn, Kevin Marino Cabrera, U.S. Ambassador to Panama, stated that the initiative will last for more than 11 months and covers 27 communities at the national level, where patients from different regions will be able to receive care and direct benefits.

At the Nicolás A. Solano Hospital, a hospital care team made up of specialists in cardiology, family medicine, midwifery, and audiology will be incorporated, who will join the doctor and nurse experts in trauma who have been supporting since November 17.

«We will continue to work together for the well-being of both peoples,» reiterated Ambassador Cabrera.
